Albert Martell Jr. (Al), 74, of Lincoln, RI, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family. He was the son of Maybell and Albert Martell, Sr. Al was born and raised in Lincoln. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1969 and went on to earn a bachelor's degree from Bryant College. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Navy, serving honorably aboard the USS Blandy until 1973.

Following his service to his country, Al dedicated his life to public safety and service. He began his career as a prison guard at the Adult Correctional Institute of Rhode Island, where he worked for two years before joining the Lincoln Police Department. Al served the department with distinction for 21 years, retiring at the rank of Lieutenant of Detectives. His commitment to protecting and serving his community continued at the Rhode Island Airport Police, where he worked for 10 years before retiring.

Al was known for his unwavering dedication, kind heart, and sharp sense of humor. He touched the lives of many with his strength and compassion, and his legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Jeanne Martell; his bonus son, Joe Bousquet (Felix), his grandson, Felix IV. His brother, Robert Martell, sister-in-law, Deborah, and their children. He also leaves behind his son, Matthew, his daughter, Kristen, and their families.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Keefe Funeral Home, 5 Higginson Ave, Lincoln, RI, on Saturday, Feb. 15, 2025, from 10am - 12pm followed by a funeral home service and Military Honors. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in his memory.
